Clara (Dee Williams) and Beth (Katie Morgan) sit across from each other at a table. Beth notices with concern that Spencer will be late again and hopes that they won’t have to wait that long this time. He was TWO HOURS late for their last prayer hour together.
Eventually Spencer (Dick Chibbles) arrives. It quickly becomes clear that he is married to both Clara and Beth. To her shock, he says the reason he is late is because he has seen another woman and he wants to make her his third wife.
Days later the doorbell rings at Clara’s home. Clara approaches her front door and opens it, letting Beth in. Beth thanks Clara for the invitation. Clara admits this feels weird because they usually only come together for situations that Spencer is supposed to be involved in, such as their prayer sessions together. But she has no one to talk to about her situation. Beth says that she feels the same way and Clara leads her further into the house.
A short time later, Clara and Beth sit separately on the couch and complain that Spencer is neglecting them. They realize that Spencer may have encouraged a rivalry between them and decide to put that rivalry aside.
Over the next few weeks, Clara and Beth spend more and more time together and their bond grows stronger. After all, one day Clara and Beth are sitting next to each other on the couch in Clara’s living room. They bond even more and decide they don’t need Spencer’s attention when they have each other.
Beth lays her head in Clara’s lap and looks at her. Clara looks a bit surprised, but then smiles and begins to stroke Beth’s hair lovingly. After a few minutes, Clara’s free hand grasps one of Beth’s hands and they both smile. Finally, Beth gets up and goes for a kiss, but then pauses for a moment. Clara takes a deep breath for courage and then nods to her. They kiss, which results in them having sweet, passionate sex.
Although Beth and Clara have found solace in each other, they cannot keep their affair from Spencer forever. But what WILL he do when he finds out?
